bump day – week 13

Filed in: Personal

whew! the first trimester is officially over! with more and more energy every day, my mind has wandered into nursery land. pinterest has been a lifesaver when it comes to ideas for the little nugget’s room.

here are some of our favorite nurseries and inspiration for our own special space – all courtesy of the ah-mazing powers of pinterest! (all photos are from pinterest and were not connected to photo credit sources)

Nate and I both love the idea of a classic nursery with a little “pop” of modern – whether it comes from a cute lighting fixture from ikea, or some paper globes.

Nate and his dad started installing wainscoting this weekend and i am l-u-r-v-i-n-g it. nothing says classic nursery quite like some good ‘ol bead board and chair rail! i just love how the dark crib looks against the light walls. we are picking up our crib this week, and it looks almost identical to the one below!

is it a total disgrace that i want to paint the nursery grey or some sort of tan? aren’t i supposed to want to paint it baby blue or bright pink? oh well, i never said i wasn’t a little crazy 😉

The color. The coziness. The fabric. Oh my!

The pretend-interior-designer inside of me is swooning at the window-turned-mirror.

It’s a good thing we still have 6 months until Little Lyon will be here, because it may take us the majority of that time to finish the nursery with all the ideas i have floating around in my head! but, working on the room together is a total blast, and makes the idea of a little baby entering our lives seem more and more real. we’ll keep you updated on the progress!

have you ever designed a nursery? where did you find your inspiration?

and now, the weekly update 🙂

How Far Along? 13 weeks
Maternity Clothes? Nope, but jeans are now my least comfortable piece of clothing.
Weight Gain? Still down a few pounds
Stretch Marks? Nope!
Sleep? Some nights are better than others! These pregnancy dreams are pretty strange..!
Best Moment of the Week? Watching Nate and his dad work on the wainscoting – having almost-dad and almost-grandpa work on the baby’s room was so cute!
Movement? Not for a couple of months at least
Gender? Who knows! This week, we still think boy, but we’re ordering one of those silly gender prediction tests online just for funsies. Results next week!
Symptoms: The fatigue and sickness is almost gone, except for the nighttime stomach aches. I’m hoping ice cream will fix those 😉
Milestones: Entering the 2nd trimester!
Emotions: Feeling good!
Miss Anything? Cold cut sandwiches from Subway. What I wouldn’t give for one of those right now!
Food cravings: Anything Mexican!!! I don’t think I’ve ever eaten so much Qdoba in my life..
Belly Button in or out? In!
Wedding rings on or off? On
Looking forward to: Having an actual bump, instead of just feeling like I ate too much at Thanksgiving all the time!
